Whilst away, and taking care of my personal business, lots of information and news has been released about Mélanie’s 7 minute short film, that is premiering at this years prestigious Cannes Film Festival. According to the official Cannes website, this is the synopsis of the film.

Lisa, a young woman, tries to remember moments in her life with the help of her doctor. Voices resonate, images intermingle… moments of happiness suddenly appear. A few seconds later, she has already forgotten. The disease progresses. Life fades away.

Boyfriend, Julien Boisselier, plays the fiancé of Lisa. Also, famed French actress, Mélanie Doutey also appears in this film as what is simply known as “the friend” at this point. I’m not sure if the film has been viewed yet by the Cannes crowd, but no reviews have been found just yet. Mélanie also has not shown up to Cannes yet, so I’m assuming this means De Moins En Moins was not yet reviewed.

A PDF of the film Poster and information sheet was released on the Cannes website, and we now have it in our gallery for everyone to view. I decided, since my time will be very limited from now on, to turn gallery registration back on. So, if you inquired about this issue before and haven’t received a reply from me concerning it, you may now make your own login.

An a short update here, but Mélanie has signed onto a new role. She’ll play alongside François Berléand and Miou-Miou in a film about a Russian maestro who gets fired for refusing to dismiss his Jewish musicians, called “Le Concert/The Concert”. Filming begins on 18th May in Romania, Moscow and France.

A huge thanks to Mariana for pointing me in the direction of this news. Mélanie Laurent’s 7 minute short film “DE MOINS EN MOINS” will make it’s debut at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival. An official announcement has been made on the Cannes website, listing the other short films in competition and the judges who will make the decision. Mariana has also found us a small image from the film. It’s now in our gallery, so make sure you check it out.

FilmsLa Chambre des Morts

I want to start by saying that I’m back from vacation early, due to a sprained ankle. So, updates will now resume!

Some exciting movie news has hit the internet, and I’m not entirely sure what the plot to these films are, but according to Allocine and IMDb, Mélanie has signed to 2 new films. “Amstramgram”, which is listed as having a 2009 release, currently has no information but co-stars are listed as Audrey Dana, François Berléand and Linh Dan Pham. A movie intitled “Le Bal des Actrices” (translated to “The Ball of the Actresses” in English), which features other actresses as themselves, lists Mélanie as a member of the cast. Just like “Amstramgram”, “Le Bal des Actrices” currently has no information. I’m guessing that it’s a film about famous French actresses, but I can’t be certain.

A release date has now been announced for “La Chambre des Morts”. The dramatic thriller is said to hit store selves June 10th, 2008 in France. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get my hands on a copy in Montréal when it’s released!

February 18, 2008 | Even More “Paris” Coverage

FilmsGalleryParis

With just days away until “Paris” makes it’s premiere in French theatres, more and more goodies from the film are popping up everywhere. Allocine has added a second trailer to their media gallery, this one centering around Mélanie’s character - Laetitia. I’m unable to get it right now for our Video Vault, but you can view the trailer by clicking here.
Thanks to the posters at tFS, we have our first official “Paris” poster in our gallery. In addition to that, I’ve just now come across a second poster, this one being the original image seen before even a trailer was released for the film.
Following with that, remember that “Paris” hits French cinema’s nationally on February 20th! So, if you are residing in France, make sure you check it out and support Mélanie’s latest flick. Or make it a triple feature and check out “Paris”, “La Chambre des Morts” and “Le Tueur” for an evening of Mélanie movies!

January 16, 2008 | Le Tueur Media Goodies

FilmsGalleryMediaVideos

Though I planned to originally have these up before, or on the day of the Le Tueur premiere, I’ve finally managed to add the clip and trailer to our video archive. As well as that, I’ve capped the videos and unfortunately, the trailer had very little Mélanie in it. However, Mélanie looks great, as usual. Enjoy!
